Russia has publicly reaffirmed its commitment to India’s defence requirements ahead of President Vladimir Putin’s December visit, calling the partnership “unshakeable” and offering advanced systems, including additional S-400 units and the Su-57E stealth jet with unprecedented tech transfer. Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov said Russia stands ready to support India’s needs, emphasising a six-decade strategic relationship that continued even during sanctions. This assurance arrives after the S-400 proved crucial in Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Air Force credited the system with neutralising Pakistani threats in record time. With India’s first five S-400 units set for completion by 2027, Moscow is signalling readiness for more deliveries and deeper co-production. The visit is expected to seal major defence agreements, from BrahMos expansions to Sukhoi upgrades, marking a defining moment in India-Russia military ties.
