The 85th plenary session of the Indian National Congress (INC) began on Friday in Chhattisgarh, with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge chairing the steering committee meeting and raking crucial decisions about the Congress working committee (CWC), resolutions to be adopted on major socio-political issues. The Congress steering committee on Friday unanimously decided to authorize party president Kharge to nominate all members of the working committee, the party's highest decision making body.
