Punjab: BSF shoots down Pak drone carrying contraband in Amritsar
Border Security Force shot down a Pakistani drone in Punjab, soon after it entered into Indian territory carrying a consignment of contraband items on March 27. It was carrying 2.5 kg of Heroin and was shot down in the area of Border Outpost Rajatal in the Amritsar Sector.The drone was shot down around 8.20 pm on March 27 in the Amritsar district of Punjab when the BSF troops deployed at the India-Pakistan International Border heard the buzzing sound of the flying object. It was recovered on March 28 morning during a search operation conducted by the border guarding force. “BSF jawans saw a drone coming from Pakistan and shot it down. We cordoned off the area along with the police and conducted an intensive search operation in which one person was detained. The drone is made in China and 2.5 kg of heroin-like material was found with it,” said BSF Commandant Jasbir Singh, Amritsar.
