Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna: September 23 to be celebrated as 'Ayushman Bharat Diwas'

Ayushman Bharat Yojana or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) completes one year today. PMJAY is also known as National Health Protection Scheme and was launched in 2018 by PM Modi. All the previous govt schemes such as Senior citizen health Insurance Scheme (SCHIS), Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana, Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), and Employees' State Insurance Scheme (ESIS) were subsumed to form the National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS). The NDA govt is now planning to celebrate September 23 as 'Ayushman Bharat Diwas' to generate awareness about the scheme.
