Centre cuts excise duty on petrol and diesel, but introduces 'road cess'

The Centre has announced a Rs 2 per litre cut in excise duty on petrol and diesel, but there will be no benefit for the aam aadmi as the government has announced a 'road cess' of Rs 8 per litre. Hence, the price of the fuel for the end consumer will remain the same.
