Pakistan: At Least 24 Killed, Over 100 Injured In BLA's 'Fidayeen Attack' On Train In Balochistan
At least 24 Pakistani personnel were killed and over 100 injured after a shuttle train was targeted in a powerful suicide vehicle-borne IED blast in Balochistan’s Quetta on Sunday morning. The train had moved a short distance after picking up passengers from Quetta military cantonment when the explosion occurred near Chaman Phatak, causing one of its bogies to be heavily damaged and the train to derail, followed by a fire. The Majeed Brigade of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it specifically targeted Pakistani army personnel. Reports suggest over 300 military personnel were on board. Rescue teams and security forces rushed to the site as operations continued amid fears the death toll may rise.
