In a tragic incident at least 10 people were instantly killed and over 15 were injured after the pick-up van in which they were travelling turned turtle near Murtahandi under Kotpad police limits in Odisha's Koraput district on Sunday night. The injured have been shifted to a hospital at Kotpad and condition of few is stated to be critical, said police. According to police, the incident took place around 8 pm near Murtahandi, situated at a distance of about 100 kilometres from here, bordering Chhattisgarh, while the vehicle was returning from Sindhigaon. 'Around 30 villagers of Chhattisgarh had come in the vehicle to Sindhigaon to attend the 10th-day death observation of some of their relative and while returning to their village the incident happened after the driver lost control over the vehicle near a railway crossing,' said police. Police said owing to darkness there has been a problem in the rescue operation and the bodies are lying scattered.
