Thick fog coupled with intense cold wave conditions across north Indian belt spelt trouble for travellers and local residents. Seven trains were cancelled, several rescheduled and delayed at the New Delhi Railway Station due to reduced visibility. Fog also hit flight operations at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport. Clueless about the arrival of their trains, some passengers were forced to spend the night at the station amid teeth-chattering cold.
