NDA finds its first Muslim candidate in UP since 2014 and AAP gets notice for poll code violation... today's top election news

The NDA alliance in Uttar Pradesh has fielded its first Muslim candidate since the year 2014. BJP ally Apna Dal (S) has named Congress veteran Noor Bano’s UK-educated grandson Haider Ali Khan as its candidate for the Suar assembly seat in UP. Congress had declared the 36-year-old Haider as its candidate for the seat on January 13. However, he spurned the offer and crossed over to Anupriya Patel-led Apna Dal (S).
