Controversy erupted over Madhya Pradesh government's decision to include chapters about RSS founder Dr Keshav Hedgewar and Jan Sangh founder Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, along with other thinkers of India, in the foundation course of MBBS. Opposition parties including Congress alleged that the BJP was trying to impose its ideology in the field of education and saffronise it.
