Kiran Bedi relieved from duties as Puducherry Lieutenant Governor
The Central government has relieved Puducherry lieutenant governor Kiran Bedi of administrative responsibilities. The news comes on the day the Congress-led government in the Union Territory lost its majority following the resignation of an MLA. Assembly elections are slated to be held in the Union territory in April-May this year. The decision to relieve Bedi is the culmination of a long-running feud between her and chief minister V Narayanasamy.
