Former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, BJP leader CN Ashwath Narayan on February 05 slammed Karnataka government for withdrawing National Education Policy in Karnataka and alleged that Congress is trying to play political vendetta against the interest of students.“... The National Education Policy has been implemented in Karnataka for the last three years... Irrespective of the government, the policy was taken forward throughout the country. But in Karnataka, there is a party, which is playing with the students. And it is going to impact all walks of society, including minorities, the poor, and the reserved classes... The NEP is very futuristic, promising and realistic from all angles. The State Education Policy is against the 4-year degree, which is not compulsory, it is the choice of the students... It is very well designed keeping the industry and the opportunities in mind. The present government is insensitive and does not understand the entire policy. They are trying to play a political vendetta against the interest of the students. We have already conducted a lot of awareness programs and now we will approach the governor... Whatever of the NEP had been implemented in the state by the previous government should be taken forward,” said CN Ashwath Narayan.
