A search operation was conducted by members of the Army, the Police, Additional Army Avalanche Rescue Teams, and Civil Medical Teams on February 18 to locate a man whose corpse had been buried under snow after a massive avalanche in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Ten persons were reportedly walking nearby when an avalanche struck them; three of them managed to escape, while Aijaz Ahman Tantray was reportedly buried beneath the snow.
