A deadly chain of events that began with a Faridabad explosives recovery has ended in a devastating blast at Nowgam Police Station, killing nine officials and leaving 29 injured. J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat revealed that the volatile chemicals seized earlier in Faridabad were being processed for forensic examination when a sudden accidental explosion tore through the premises late Friday night. Among the victims were forensic scientists, an SIA officer, photographers, and revenue officials assisting in the investigation. The DGP categorically ruled out any terror attack and urged citizens to avoid speculation as the inquiry into the cause moves ahead. The blast severely damaged the police station and nearby structures.
