Indian Navy, Uber sign MoU to offer mobility solutions to naval personnel, families
The Indian Navy on Sept 11 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uber in the presence of Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar and senior officials of the company. The Indian Navy has joined hands with a cab aggregator service with an aim to provide reliable, convenient, safe and economical mobility solutions for personal travel and commute of naval personnel and families across the country. Speaking on MoU signing program between Uber and Indian Navy, Uber’s Senior Country Manager for India SA & Egypt Abhinav Mittoo said that it is a milestone for the company. He further mentioned that the Indian Navy and their families will get exclusive benefits from Uber services. Abhinav Mittoo said, “I think the benefit is great because it’s an exclusive partnership. For Uber this is an important milestone because it opens new territories. The Indian Navy and their families will get exclusive benefits when they use Uber services through our program.” Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar said, “We wanted to find a solution as to how can we help the officers or their families to transit either for duty or for their personal requirements...The aim is to ensure that our people can avail the benefits of the IT revolutions and developments happening in the country...We are signing this on a very significant day, today is 9/11 that transformed the world in many ways.”
