India Post will halt all parcel services to the United States from August 25, amid confusion over new US customs rules that scrap duty-free imports under $800. From August 29, all US-bound postal items will attract duties, except gifts under $100. With no approved process for carriers to collect these duties, airlines have refused to transport such parcels. India joins postal services in France, Belgium, Austria, and Scandinavia in suspending shipments. Deutsche Post will stop standard US deliveries, though DHL Express will continue. The disruption is part of Donald Trump’s wider trade crackdown in his second term, which includes doubling tariffs on Indian exports over ongoing Russian oil imports. India Post has assured efforts to resume services soon.
