Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister for Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy), stated that India is a leader in the field of traditional systems of medicine. He made the statement at an event celebrating National Ayurveda Day in Assam. The Minister emphasized the need for research and innovation in Ayurveda and other traditional medical systems. He also emphasized the role of traditional systems in building a healthy and resilient nation.
