“India can become USD 40 trillion economy by 2047…” Piyush Goyal at Raisina Dialogue ‘23

While addressing the Raisina Dialogue 2023, Union Minister Piyush Goyal exuded confidence in Indian economy and said India will become a $40 trillion economy by 2047. “5 trillion truly was a target and is a target. We will get there in the next 4-5 years. Most likely by 2028, we will be the third-largest economy in the world,” said Piyush Goyal. “We are looking to become a developed economy by 2047. We are looking to become a prosperous country with inclusive growth and every citizen of India has a good quality of life. 30 years ago we were under $300 billion economy. Last year we were $3.5 trillion. We will be at least $40 trillion economy by 2047,” he further said.
