India calls for efforts to combat terrorism
India has been serving as the chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee this year and has shown its unwavering commitment towards the fight against global terrorism. On its concluding day in the capital city, October 29, the UN Counter Terrorism Council adopted the Delhi Declaration and called on all 15 member states to ensure zero tolerance towards terrorism. The Council also reaffirmed that terrorism, in all its forms, constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. The main focus of the meeting was to address the misuse and abuse of new and emerging technologies, financing of terror, and unmanned aerial systems including drones.
