Following months of wrestlers’ protests against the then Wrestling Federation of India chief BrijBhushan Sharan Singh, Sanjay Singh, aide of BrijBhushan, was elected as the new president on Dec 21. Meanwhile, the protesting wrestlers were extremely unhappy with the appointment of the new chief. Expressing displeasure over his appointment, Indian wrestler Sakshee Malikkh broke down and declared ‘quitting’ from wrestling. On being asked about Sakshee Malikkh quitting the game, BrijBhushan Singh said he had nothing to do with it. Notably, the wrestlers have been protesting against the former WFI chief over sexual harassment allegations.
