Fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi has been admitted to a hospital in Dominica after testing negative for Covid-19. According to the information received from Antigua and Dominica on Sunday night, the 63-year-old trader was taken to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital in Roseau after he was taken out of police custody. Twenty four hours earlier, he was tested for Covid and the result was negative. The news of hospitalisation was confirmed to TOI by multiple sources, both in Antigua and Dominica. His Antigua lawyer Justin Simon said the news was correct and forwarded a local media report saying. “I would not send fake media information. I am wary of the media, but that Dominica reporter has it right,” he said of the development, which was corroborated by a source in Dominican too. Information on the nature of his health complaint, however, could not be immediately ascertained.
