Former Defence Minister George Fernandes passes away

Former Defence Minister in the Vajpayee government George Fernandes passed away this morning. He was 88 and had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease. His last stint as a Parliamentarian was as a Rajya Sabha MP from 2009-2010. He will be remembered for his contributions to Indian democracy.
