The number of food poisoning cases in Kerala is less compared to other states in the country, State Health Minister Veena George told media. She was answering reporters’ question on food poisoning cases in Kerala. “Still we are giving top priority and our Food Safety Department has decided to bring a change in the system. We have decided to execute the law strictly,” said Veena George. “We have convened a meeting with hotel and restaurant association and street food vendors. One of the decisions of the meeting was to prohibit mayonnaise with raw eggs. We have found that in many cases that mayonnaise was a common factor. We can use vegetable mayonnaise or mayonnaise with pasteurised eggs,” she added.
