Five Maoist Functionaries Surrender In Gadchiroli As ‘Operation Antim Prahar’ Intensifies
Security forces have achieved a major breakthrough in the fight against Maoist insurgency in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district. Five Naxal functionaries surrendered before the police as the CRPF and Gadchiroli Police intensified anti-Naxal operations under ‘Operation Antim Prahar’. Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police M. Ramesh said that eight Maoists have also been arrested during the operation. He further claimed that after the launch of the operation, no Maoists remain on the district’s official ‘wanted’ list. The operation is being seen as a significant success for security agencies in curbing Left-Wing Extremism in the region.
