Fadnavis Takes 'Palturam' Jibe At Uddhav Thackeray After Anti-Marathi Allegations | Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government has withdrawn two GRs that mandated Hindi as the third language in schools, following backlash from the opposition. CM Devendra Fadnavis announced a committee led by Dr. Narendra Jadhav to review the language policy. Uddhav Thackeray accused Fadnavis of being "against Marathi" and having "poison in his mind" towards the language. Fadnavis hit back, calling Uddhav "Palturam" and citing the Mashelkar Committee’s earlier recommendation on Hindi. Shiv Sena (UBT) had burned GR copies in protest, while an upcoming joint protest by Uddhav and Raj Thackeray on July 5 was later called off.
