EAM Jaishankar To Hold Bilateral Talks With Chinese FM Wang Yi During His India Visit

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit India on August 18-19 to hold the 24th round of Special Representatives’ talks on the India-China boundary issue with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will also meet Wang for separate bilateral discussions. The visit comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned trip to China for the SCO summit and follows recent steps by both countries to restore ties after the 2020 eastern Ladakh standoff. The talks are expected to further dialogue, enhance mutual understanding, and strengthen diplomatic engagement between India and China, reflecting a shared commitment to stability and cooperation.
