With Jammu and Kashmir hosting a special session on Film Tourism under its G20 meeting, participants attending the event on May 23 in Srinagar hailed the session’s potential for garnering international tourism in the Valley. The Union Territory is holding a G20 meeting of the working group on tourism that is being held from May 22 to 24. Squashing all the skepticism, the meetings are being held successfully, as it is also an opportunity for India to showcase J&K’s improved situation. India is holding several G20 meetings under its presidency, meanwhile, the Summit will be held in September. “The meet will surely give a boost to Kashmir’s tourism. This will also increase the chances for international cinema using the Valley. The Government has also enhanced the facilities. This will also aid in increasing the in-bound and series tours,” Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Alliance Chairman Nasir Shah said. “We have been working on film tourism subject for the past 10 years. I am happy that this subject is important for G20. I wish that this will aid in making India better in this subject. Everyone knows about the G20 meeting being held in Kashmir. Kashmir’s potential is well-known. International production may also opt for this location in the future,” Motion Picture Association participant said.
