Delhi Police held one for raping, defaming woman after faking identity as Hindu

Speaking on Karawal Nagar Rape Case, Additional DCP of North-East Delhi, Sandhya Swamy on June 10 informed that a youth has been arrested for alleged rape and defamation of a girl. “We received a complaint yesterday from a girl that she befriended a person on Instagram in October 2020. That person then told him his name was Golu and also told that he is a Hindu. Later when the girl came to know that the person's real name is Shahrukh and he is a Muslim, she wanted to break up but the person used to follow her and asked her to continue her friendship. Shahrukh was arrested after registering an FIR in the case. Investigation underway,” said Additional DCP Sandhya Swamy, North-East Delhi. “We're investigating the incident...there is no religious conversion or love jihad angle in this,” she added.
