India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bhubaneswar Director HR Biswas informed that Cyclone Yaas likely to intensify further into severe cyclonic storm during next 12 hours. “Cyclone Yaas now located around 520 km South-SouthEast of Paradip (in Odisha) is very likely to intensify further into severe cyclonic storm during the next 12 hours, and subsequent 24 hours, it will intensify into very severe cyclonic storm,” said HR Biswas, Director, IMD Bhubaneswar. He further added, “It will move North-NorthWest and will reach NorthWest of Odisha and West Bengal coast. Further, it will cross the coast between Paradip and Sagar Island around Balasore on May 26 around noon as a very severe cyclone storm.”
