COVID-19: Contact tracing of coronavirus cases is being actively pursued, says health ministry

Health ministry in a press brief said that the government is actively pursuing the contact tracing of coronavirus cases. Joint secretary Lav Aggarwal said that this has led to identification of more than 4000 contacts who have been put under surveillance. Health ministry further said, "India has evacuated 1,031 persons, including people from Maldives, US, Madagascar and China. Government has brought 42,296 passengers under community surveillance, out of which 2,559 were symptomatic and 522 hospitalised including 17 foreign nationals."
