Senior Congress leader G Parameshwara is likely to be appointed Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister in the new DK Shivakumar-led government, according to sources. The development is expected to end speculation over the deputy CM post ahead of the swearing-in ceremony. A prominent Dalit leader and former Home Minister, Parameshwara is understood to be the preferred choice as the Congress leadership finalises the new cabinet and power-sharing arrangement in the state.
