Jaipur (Rajasthan), 20 February (ANI): Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot laid the foundation stone of Phase-3 of Rajiv Gandhi Lift Canal in Jodhpur. About Rs 1,799 crore will be spent on this. Along with this, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 19 development works costing about Rs 211 crore and inaugurated 8 works worth Rs 85.50 crore for the development of Jodhpur.During this, the Chief Minister said that there would be no financial crunch in completing the third phase of the Rajiv Gandhi Lift Canal. This project has been designed keeping in mind the drinking water requirements of the year 2054. The work of the project will be completed by the year 2025. Due to this, there will be no shortage of water in Jodhpur, Pali and Barmer for the next 30 years.Apart from this, the Chief Minister said that the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project is essential for the availability of drinking water and irrigation in 13 districts of Eastern Rajasthan. The Central Government is being repeatedly urged to give it the status of a national project. He said that the state government would complete it with its own resources. A budget of 13 thousand 500 crores has been kept for this.
