Classified satellite launched from New Zealand

California-based Rocket Lab launched a small classified satellite from New Zealand's Mahia Peninsula for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) on Thursday. The NROL-199 mission launched from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 carrying a payload designed, built, and operated by the NRO in partnership with the Australian Department of Defense. This mission follows the successful delivery to orbit of its predecessor NROL-162 three weeks earlier.
