India’s 77th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm by Indian diplomatic missions in China, bringing together members of the Indian diaspora, Chinese community, and diplomats. In Beijing, Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat hoisted the national flag and read excerpts from President Droupadi Murmu’s address, followed by patriotic chants and cultural performances, including a Kathak recital. A special exhibition showcased the historical significance of Vande Mataram. In Shanghai, Consul General Pratik Mathur hosted large-scale celebrations attended by over 400 guests. The event featured flag hoisting, cultural showcases, exhibitions, and reflections on strengthening bilateral ties, including improved air connectivity, visa resumption, and trade cooperation. Tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, celebrations of Indian culture, and an Indian culinary festival highlighted the programme, ending with a message of unity and dedication towards India’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
