The Centre has issued an advisory to states after fresh surge in Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab. The Centre has advised states to improve Covid testing with a focus on increasing RT-PCR tests. The states have been asked to conduct mandatory RT-PCR tests after negative rapid antigen test, focus on strict surveillance and stringent containment, regular monitoring of the mutant strains and clinical management in districts with higher deaths.
