Centre Can Take Back Leased Land For Public Interest, Says Khattar; Delhi Plan Soon?
Union housing minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the Centre can reclaim leased land before or after lease expiry whenever public interest requires it. His remarks come amid the Gymkhana Club eviction controversy. The government currently administers over 60,500 leases across nearly 20,000 acres in Delhi, including prime locations. Khattar also said Delhi's long-delayed Master Plan is nearing notification, while the NCR Master Plan is expected to be finalised soon after a June 16 meeting addressing pending objections. Watch
