External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar delivered a blunt message to Donald Trump: India will not be forced to choose between BRICS and QUAD. Speaking at ET WLF 2025, Jaishankar declared, “Quad is Quad, BRICS is BRICS,” rejecting the West’s attempt to frame India’s diplomacy as a binary choice. His remarks came amid Washington’s frustration after Trump imposed 50% tariffs on India over Russian oil imports. Jaishankar reminded the world that India’s foreign policy is built on national interest, not external pressure. The strong rebuttal signals India’s growing confidence as a global power that will not bend under Western or Chinese influence.
