BJP Targets Mamata Banerjee Over ED Raid At I-PAC, Alleges Evidence Tampering
BJP national spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra on Thursday accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of obstructing the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation during raids at the IPAC office in Kolkata. Patra alleged that Mamata intervened while officials were conducting searches, taking physical and electronic documents and pushing aside ED officers. The raids, he said, covered 10 locations across India, including six in Bengal and four in Delhi, in connection with a coal scam involving hawala transactions, which also qualifies as a PMLA case. Patra further claimed that Mamata’s actions at the residence of IPAC chief Pratik Jain show a deliberate attempt to interfere with the probe, suggesting she has something to hide.
