The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel, criticised the Central government for failing to grant benefits and privileges to people who had been elevated from the scheduled castes. Addressing the media persons, he said on Jan 15, “BJP has the government at the Centre which has taken choices like withdrawing 370, demonetization, and introducing GST. So, they should take decision on this matter too.” “They come here and say that those who are converted should not get the benefits of tribal and scheduled castes. They have a government at the Center, why don't they bring a law on this? You removed 370, brought demonetisation, brought GST, everything is done. So do this too,” added Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
