After NCERT, Railway ministry note to Union Cabinet uses the term Bharat for India

Railway ministry proposal to Union Cabinet uses ‘Bharat’ in place of ‘India’. This is perhaps the first time when a Cabinet proposal has used the world ‘Bharat’ for India. Bharat seems to have become the favoured nomenclature of Modi government. Sources have told TOI that usage of ‘Bharat’ will increase in govt papers in coming days. Earlier, NCERT decided to replace ‘India’ with ‘Bharat’ in forthcoming editions of its textbooks.
