The Directorate of Madrasah Education in West Bengal has made the singing of “Vande Mataram” mandatory during morning assembly prayers in all government, aided, and recognised madrasahs across the state. The order has come into effect immediately and applies before the start of classes every day.The directive marks a significant move in Bengal’s education policy and is expected to spark political debate in the state. Officials say all recognised madrasahs under the state education system must comply with the new instruction.
