Beat officials with shoes if they cheat farmers, says Chhattisgarh Congress MLA Brihaspat Singh

Chhattisgarh Congress MLA Brihaspat Singh stoked a controversy, saying that "officials who have cheated farmers must be beaten up with shoes." While speaking at a function, Singh said, "There has to be an inquiry against officials who cheated farmers. If required, such officials must be beaten up with shoes. Cheating of farmers cannot be tolerated." He made these statements in presence of cabinet minister Amarjeet Singh Bhagat. Singh told TOI that officials of Gramin Bank have cheated farmers of Balrampur region.
