Assam govt to close down all state-run madrassas to be shut in Assam

The Assam government is closing down all government run madrassas in the state. Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the government cannot allow religious education with public money. Sarma said a notification will be issued next month. They will bring out a notification in November to this effect.
