Arrangements are underway at the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation in Borjuri village near Kaziranga National Park, to keep the animals and birds safe during the winter season. Specially-built ICUs for birds, blankets for elephants and other arrangements are being made. Veterinarian Dr Samshul Ali said, “For elephants, we usually use hay as a base and blankets to cover them. We have ICU for birds and reptiles where we can control humidity and temperature for them. We have 6 elephants, 2 rhinos, 1 buffalo, 5 leopards and 2 hornbills.”
