Ahead of presidential elections, Mamata calls Oppn parties meet except Cong

A meeting of 19 opposition parties including the AAP and NCP and DMK, has been convened by TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee in New Delhi on June 15. The meet has been called to decide on a united opposition strategy and candidate for the Presidential election next month. This comes just after Congress President Sonia Gandhi reached out to like-minded parties including the TMC pertaining to the upcoming presidential elections in the country. In an official statement, the Congress President said, "We need to rise above our differences for the sake of the nation. INC along with other political parties will be taking this discussion forward.”
