Boeing on March 10 announced an agreement with GMR Aero Technic to establish a new Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) line in Hyderabad. According to a release from Boeing, the collaboration adds to its continued investments to support cargo growth and help expand complex aircraft modification capabilities and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) in India, supporting India's aspiration to become an aviation and aerospace hub. While talking to ANI on the agreement, Boeing India Chief Salil Gupte said, “It is a great deal for Boeing and we think for the Indian industrial ecosystem in Aerospace in general. This is a very exciting capability that we are bringing to India. It is the first passenger-to-freight conversion line for Boeing for the 737 NG Aircraft.” “We are bringing this line to convert a passenger aircraft into a freighter aircraft to India. We look forward to partnering more with the Indian industrial ecosystem in the years to come,” he added.
