In anticipation of the Diwali festival, a young Kashmiri potter named Mohamad Umer Kumar, along with his father and brother, is diligently crafting a significant order of twenty thousand lamps and diyas. Umer Kumar, hailing from Ishber Nishat, is on a mission to revive the declining art of pottery in Srinagar. His handmade lamps will illuminate countless homes in the city during Diwali. To date, Umer's family has successfully crafted over five thousand lamps and is determined to fulfil the entire order by November 9. Umer Kumar expressed his happiness in contributing to the cultural exchange, mentioning the tradition of wearing kurtas made by Hindu tailors during Eid and now taking pride in creating Diyas for Hindu families.
