Organ donation amidst the pandemic

Organ donation is a noble way to save lives and give back to society.However, the awareness about organ donation in our country is rather bleak. Estimates suggest that India only has 0.05 donors per million, contrasted to the need of at least 5 lakh organs annually. COVID-19 pandemic has also made matters worse. While awareness was already low, doctors feel that people are now more hesitant about donation. People also have a lot of myths and questions surrounding the safety of organ donation, especially in the middle of a pandemic.
