Serbian opposition lawmakers threw smoke grenades and tear gas inside parliament on Tuesday in protest against government policies and in support of student demonstrations. The protests began after a train station roof collapse killed 15 people four months ago and have since escalated into a major challenge for the government. The session turned chaotic as opposition members scuffled with security guards, leading to injuries, including a stroke suffered by SNS lawmaker Jasmina Obradovic. Despite the unrest, the parliament proceeded with its agenda, including increased university funding—a key student demand.
