Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Saturday warned that Hungary is being 'forced' into the Ukraine conflict, emphasising that the country must 'stay out of the war' as the April 2026 parliamentary elections approach. "Hungary is being forced and dragged into a war - it is not a theoretical possibility. [...] This is what knocks on the door every day, and I have to keep that door shut with all my strength," he said during the 'Digital Civic Circle' anti-war rally in Miskolc. "Being drawn into a war is a daily danger for Hungary, so the first prerequisite for any grand future plan is to stay out of the war," he stressed. The Prime Minister criticised the European Union, claiming the bloc has having shifted from a political body to a 'war council.'
